Federal Work-Study program (FWS) is a federally funded employment program that enables you to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) on campus and/or remotely (off campus)! FWS funds are 有限的 and offered on a 1st come 1st serve basis.

How am I eligible for 联邦工作研究?
To be eligible for the FWS program, a student must:
- FAFSA application must be sumbitted and completed by March 2nd deadline.
- Submit 联邦工作研究 Interest Form.
- Be enrolled at least 6 units.
- 满足 Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)标准.
- Have financial need, based on their completed financial aid file.
- 请注意: International students are not eligible for the 联邦工作研究 program.
- The FWS amount offered is the maximum amount a student can earn during the academic year; however it does not guarantee job placement.
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and be enrolled at least half time (6 units) during the Fall/Spring and/or Summer 术语.
- If a FWS student drops below 6 units or withdraws completely from school, they must stop working immediately and notify their employer and the 金融援助 Office.
*Not all applicants are awarded FWS Funds, this is a federal program and funding is 有限的.
How do I apply for 联邦工作研究?

What happens after I submit the FWS Interest form?
- Student will be added to a waitlist to de术语ine eligibility.
- Confirmation of interest will be emailed by the 金融援助 office to students Zonemail email address.

When a department is interested in hiring a FWS Student, they will contact student to set up an interview and request a resume, cover letter and class schedule. 后 the FWS applicant is selected, a Student 就业 Requisition (hiring packet) will 提供. Each potential FWS student must complete their portion of the hiring packet and submit it back to the hiring department and get a TB test for employment 目的.

- 后 student submits hiring packet back to the department, the application will then be sent to the financial aid office for completion before being sent to HR.
A student is NOT approved to work before a decision has been made by Human Resources, which will be communicated back to the respective hiring department.

Once the hiring process is completed, the hiring department will contact the student to inform them of the employment start date.
Reminder: In order for students to remain in the FWS program, they must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and be enrolled at least 6 units. 重新考虑 for FWS the following school year, students re-apply for work study on the FAFSA between December 1st and March 2nd.
